From bars to whoopie pies to Nanaimo Bars, these flavors are familiar to many who grew up around the Northeast and New England.
If, however, you’re not a northeast native, you may be wondering what these treats actually are, so here is a handy cheat sheet.
Bars- a can’t beat combination of a shortbread crust, cookie-dough filling and caramel, all covered in delicious, creamy chocolate.
Nanaimo Bars- This delicious bar comes to us from Canada originally, with 3 delicious layers of chocolate-graham crust, a buttercream custard, and semi-sweet chocolate; it’s one you definitely want to try!
Whoopie Pies- A snack known by many names, including black moon, gob, black-and-white, bob, or “BFO” for Big Fat Oreo, at its core, a Whoopie Pie is a dessert made up of two cakes with a cream filling. A standard Whoopie Pie is made with chocolate cake and a marshmallow cream filling. At Sweet Lucille’s we love the original, but have also added our own wide variety of flavors, which you can find here.
